a Full-Service multiform creative studio aiming to make the world a brighter, more expressive place!
Hi! I’m Tara, owner of Sol Searcher Design & multidisciplinary creative.
Currently based in San Diego, California I love creating colorful retro-inspired art in many forms and following the sun where it leads me.
I’ve been creating hand-drawn graphics with the aim to spread positivity since my first visit to Ocean Beach in 2021. Since beginning that journey I have created countless logos, posters, tshirts, stickers, social media posts, emails and anything else I could possibly draw some funky letters and flowers on.
After living and traveling to many places, each with different design, I’ve started to really notice the impact that a space has on how you feel and who you become. In college I learned a lot about how the brain functions both through my coursework and my personal experience, and that is at the root of everything I create. I recognize the proven effects of how color and art have the ability to evoke feelings of energy, excitement, and positivity and how the lack of it can cause quite the opposite.
Being a mental health advocate, I aim to use my creative skills and ventures to create a happier world, full of colors and cool designs and growth evoking quotes. I want people to feel inspired and in harmony with their environments. I also encourage everyone to embrace their own unique qualities and styles and to let those be seen by the world, because each of our unique gifts is what makes the world an amazing place.
Rooted in sustainability, innovation and good intentions, Sol Searcher Design is eager and ready to meet all of your creative needs.

Creative inspiration flows from every part of my journey. My work is a mosaic of everywhere I’ve been
My Design Journey
began summer 2021 at the Samesun Hostel in Ocean Beach where I met my bunkmate who was a graphic designer. I had set out on a journey of self discovery and adventure, and at the time all I had done was doodled things for fun on my iPad, but never saw a future in it because of my own self judgement of my work. When I met this free spirit I admired her way of creating in flow and as I sat on the porch on Newport Ave I was inspired to draw each day for hours. Ocean Beach captured my heart and inspired me to live bolder. I returned back to Tampa where I was studying communication & entrepreneurship at the University of South Florida.
As I finished up school I found creative projects to keep my inspiration going like fraternity murals, logos for friend’s small businesses, & t-shirt designs for my sorority sisters. After graduating, I lacked inspiration my creative flow for a while. I did other side jobs while trying to figure out my next steps. It had been a dream of mine to follow a tour of Dead & Company and when they announced summer 2023 would be their last one, I knew I needed to take the leap. I designed 2 posters & some totes and hats, and I set out on the road, selling my creations to pay my way to the next shows. I had just found out that I couldn’t stay where I was living at the time— a blessing in disguise, so I kept an open mind to where my next home base would be.
I made my way to California and Ocean Beach still lingered in my heart. I checked in again at the Samesun Ocean Beach where I extended my stay multiple times because I just couldn’t bring myself to leave this soulful psychedelic town. I was introduced into the San Diego music scene by friends I had met on tour, and I felt my soul come back to my body as I played music and dancing freely again. I felt like myself again for the first time in a long time. I knew I needed to call San Diego home and pursue my dreams as an artist. I once again sat on the porch on Newport Ave, this time pasting mini prints onto a poster board to sell at the Wednesday Market.
With a full heart and a new outlook on life I returned to Florida to sell nearly everything I owned, tie up some loose ends, and come up with a plan to get back to OB as soon as possible. During that time I painted my first mural project— a giant gator on a feature at a wakeboard park, and I worked for an event design company which I really loved exploring my design skills for larger scale results. On Valentines Day in 2024 I got on a plane to California and landed in the place I could finally call home! This past year in San Diego has been full of many creative ventures. I have happily designed for local businesses, musician friends, ambitious entrepreneurs & more.
I spend my days painting, swimming in the ocean, running along the cliffs, cooking delicious food, climbing with new friends, dancing to Grateful Dead music & taking time to admire the wildflowers. With a whole bunch of design work mixed in of course.
I try to be a part of markets & pop ups as often as I can and I especially love working with within this community of creatives. I’m excited you’re here for part of the journey, and I can’t wait to see where it goes next. All I know is that life sure is full of miracles, and that’s what has lead me here today.
